  • Soothing Like The Wind

Posted on December 8, 2012 @ 10:31 pm | File under : hobby, music by Simply Delicious

My niece had been playing the flute for several months now. She’s been using the school’s flute and would really like to have one of her own. A bit pricey, she had to stick with what her school had to offer. My son knows what his cousin wants and had been saving up to buy her a cheap yamaha flute. He likes the flute’s music, it’s soothing like the wind.

    Classic

Posted on @ 10:14 pm | File under : hobby, music by Simply Delicious

I’m giving my son a classic guitar for Christmas. Sure he has great electric guitars but an acoustic one is a home run. I just had to buy this stunning ibanez displayed in the music store’s window. I’m very sure he’ll get a kick out of it. Electric guitars are cool, but nothing beats a classic. The family will surely do alot of singing around the fire.

    He’s Getting the Aria

Posted on April 17, 2012 @ 12:01 am | File under : arts and crafts, hobby by Simply Delicious

If I didn’t tell my son to stop looking, he’ll be more confused ; he’ll find it difficult to choose the acoustic guitar that he really wants.  First, he wanted the Rainsong then he found two more brands that I couldn’t remember the names; and now it’s the aria. His uncle promised him that he’ll send him a guitar as a reward for being in the top ten of his class. When I asked him what he really wanted, he settled for the aria so we called up his uncle to tell him that’s what he likes.  Now he only needs to wait for two weeks and his guitar will be delivered.

    Collectors’ Convention

Posted on March 19, 2012 @ 12:21 am | File under : hobby by Simply Delicious

My husband is an avid collector of just about anything. He’s not into any specific collection like others are. He collects toys, military memorabilia and even caps. He also collects lighters and matches. The list is long.

During the convention, there were several military surplus auctions that were held. One collector had military surplus rifles for sale. I think a film outfit was the one who bought the lot. There were uniforms that were auctioned off, as well as an armored personnel carrier. I thought the convention would bore me. But with the many interesting items on sale and display. I really had a great time. I was surprised to see so many women collectors at the convention. I was able to talk to some of them.

There were vehicles on display at the rear of the convention center. Kids and adults alike were allowed to sit in them. There were a few tanks and armored vehicles. Perfectly restored jeeps were aplenty. I never knew they had so many versions of it. The marines had a booth and so did the army. A few men and women were there to sign up. There so many books on sale and my husband bought some. Maybe I could join conventions like this. I also collect stuff. Perhaps I can sell coins and stamps. This gave me a very good idea.

    Sharing the same Interests

Posted on March 16, 2012 @ 12:38 am | File under : hobby by Simply Delicious

Top shot is back and both my husband and son are excited to watch Season 4.  Ever since they have seen the first season of the reality show, both boys were hooked to firing and hunting.  Just recently, they bought a new Rifle scope for my son’s rifle.  My son knew that I won’t easily give it to him so he saved all his cash gifts last Christmas and some of his school allowance to buy the Nikon Buckmaster 6-18×40 Rifle scope.  My son really wanted that ever since he saw that in Top Shot.  They have checked a lot of Riflescopes reviews, just to make sure it is one of the bests.

From what I heard, the scope is great for hunting because it can withstand rain, fog and the different light conditions.  They are going to test that in a couple of weeks.  After schools are off, the boys are planning to go hunting in the North with some of hubs’ friends.

It’s great that father and son share the same interests.  At least they make their adventures together and what’s really important is that they are having so much fun.  This is the first time that they are going hunting together and I, too can’t help but be excited for them.
