My son’s complaining about how heavy the laptop his Dad passed on to him is. He’s been checking out the new hp mini laptops and is asking me to buy him one. Much smaller and lighter than a conventional laptop, it would be a lot easier to bring along wherever he goes. It also would be very easy to bring to school. A laptop would definitely help him with his schoolwork. This post has Comments Off Sell them!

Did you know that there are some things in your home you can earn money from? Things that we usually throw away after use because we thought they are useless. If you’re looking for ways to save money, you can easily sell those empty plastic bottles of soda and water; printer toner cartridges; and soda cans. I used to throw all these away but when somebody told me that these can be sold, I started saving them and sell all of them every few months or so. Times are really hard; the money I get from it is not so big but it’s a great help for paying some of my bills. This post has Comments Off For A Cause

My daughter’s school organization has an upcoming bazaar. They’ll be selling all kinds of stuff. The proceeds will be going to a public school. I’ve been helping them out with some of the printing jobs they nee. To make their tags unique, I had some Custom Labels for the items they’ll be selling. At least the price tags would not look ordinary. Other paraphernalia also needs Custom Printing. I had may regular printer handle these. These has to be done professionally. At least they’ll look good. My printer also does Flyer Printing. The kids would need this to advertise their bazaar. More awareness means more people would attend. All the mothers are pitching in. Some are baking cakes and pastries. My husband and some of the fathers will be selling burgers and hotdogs. Some students will be holding a fashion show and a local band will be performing too. The school they’ll be helping lost everything in a recent flood. It’s nice to see kids doing their civic duty. It’s very rare and surprising to see kids so young to be concerned about those around them. Usually, they would be into themselves. I’m proud of these kids. I’m sure all the other parents are as well. This post has Comments Off Need To Meet

With the preparations for our upcoming tournament going full blast, emails or text messaging isn’t enough. Unforeseen issues keep cropping up and we end making calls to everyone involved in the event. Being the tournament director, I finally had to do something to get everybody on the same page. I had to call for an urgent meeting. Not all of us can be present. Some of the people tasked with very important responsibilities live too far or too busy. To make sure that we meet, I called for an Audio conference instead. This way, no one can make an excuse not to attend. I’ve used Audio conferencing before. The system is perfect for our 14-man committee. I was aware that some members were not doing enough to ensure a successful tournament. I had to whip everyone into place to finally get some work done. Foreign players have signed up and we really have to make this tourney impressive to all. If we can impress these foreigners, they’ll surely be back next year. The other members did not expect that I can find ways to hold a meeting. Audio conferencing saved the day for us. We were able to iron out the last remaining issues. Everything is green and go. All the sponsors are in and all we have to do is to wait for the contestants to arrive. This post has Comments Off Cake and Pastry Sale

Some of my friends and I will be holding a cake and pastry sale to raise funds for charity. Aside from word of mouth, our group will be handing out flyers not only in our neighborhood but in the nearby areas as well. A friend who owns a printing shop will be taking care of the flyer printing. She’ll be doing it for free. Another member of our group will be donating the posters for the event. Aside from selling cakes and pastries, Basic baking lessons will also be held during the 3-day event. There will be raffles and contests for all the attendees. Some prominent bakeshops will be giving discounts on some of their products. A couple of chefs will be doing demos. This will not be the first time we’ve organized such and event. Last year, we organized a food expo and invited food companies who give out franchises for their businesses. This was to give a chance for inspiring entrepreneurs to get more information about franchising. It was a huge success. Charity events like the one we’ll be holding are always crowd drawers. People will always attend events for good causes. Almost all the booths have been filled. With two months before the event, this is a good sign. I hope we go beyond our target. Our beneficiaries will surely have a good year. This post has Comments Off |
