A grapefruit a day (particularly the red variety) lowered levels of artery-clogging triglycerides in cholesterol patients who didn’t respond to statin drugs.  Grapefruit juice has the same powers.

I love reading books. I really do not have any favorites. It all depends on my mood. Sometimes curiosity would set in especially when I’m not familiar with the author. I would check the Book summary to help me decide if I would buy it. Writers are not consistent and book summaries are the only information on what the book is all about. Many book summaries can be found online. I would usually read these before I go marching to my favorite bookstore. There are times however that I prefer to make my rounds of different bookstores to check out the latest books or which books are on sale.

I spend countless hours browsing around for subjects that might interest me. I also look for books that my husband and son like. Both have almost identical interests. Buying books for them are easy. Being a wide reader increases my knowledge. I hate it when I’m with friends and they discuss things I am clueless of. I love a good conversation and knowing about most subjects would not leave me out of place. I’d like to be like my husband who has a good grasp of all subjects. I love it when his friends complement me.
