Substance abuse has always been a social problem. Aside from narcotics, even prescription drugs are abused and misused. More a psychological problem, addiction ruins lives and families. Only when an addict admits that there is a problem that rehabilitation can successfully work. More and more addicts now undergo opiate detox treatments to rid themselves of opiate reliance. Aside from professional help, family support and understanding helps hasten a patient’s  recovery.
