Doctors recommend brands because of perks given by pharmaceutical firms. This has been an accepted practice in the medical world. I’m glad that there are now generic drugs that are as effective but far less expensive than those branded ones. My husband used generic adipex to lose some weight. It worked for him and it didn’t burn a hole in his pocket. He got the same results with a generic drug. He learned a good lesson, A brand name cost much more than the medication.
